LACTATING ADENOMA
- It’s a benign epithelial tumor composed of tubules lined by cells showing secretory change
- This tumor is usually detected during lactation and pregnancy
- It can also develop in the ectatic breast tissue which is found in areas like axilla, chest or vulva
- Grossly the tumor is well circumscribed mass
- Microscopically the lesion is well circumscribed composed of closely packed glands lined by cells having abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm.
- Hob nail pattern of cells and cells with cytoplasmic vacuolation may also be noted.
